Get External File References and Details

This node uses Python to access the File Reference details for the currently opened Revit file using the API. It also relies upon another node that uses a Python import to get the System file Date Modified information using the Path gained from the Revit API.

What is Rhythm?

rhythm-logo

Rhythm is a collection of custom nodes for the Dynamo visual programming environment. The idea is this package helps users maintain Rhythm in Revit with Dynamo. It primarily consists of out of the box Dynamo nodes used in clever ways as they apply to the Revit environment.

There will be a series of posts providing examples of what the 80+ custom nodes in Rhythm can do for you.

Interested in the inner workings of Rhythm? Feel free to check it out on GitHub!

What is this site?

Dynamo is a powerful development platform that is gaining popularity.

However, there are often so many ways to add to or modify your Dynamo environment, that it is easy to get lost in the sheer volume of Packages and Nodes that are freely available to the Community!

So here we are…

Dynamo Packages are very easily distributed and accessed from within Dynamo itself, and there are already a plethora of blogs and github pages for individual packages out there. But the one question that often fails to be answered is…

How do I use this particular Node?

There isn’t really a unified place that we can share and discuss specific Nodes: how to use them in a real, practical way.

The goal of this site is to give any Dynamo user a quick-start guide to the use of Dynamo Nodes.

There are only a few basic rules:

  1. Each post is about a specific Node
  2. The Category must be the source Package Name, if applicable
  3. The human-readable (in product) node name should be one of the Tags. Other nodes shown in reference images should be listed as Tags matching their names. Tags can also be used to assist navigability, including versions-in-use or project type or similar
  4. Try and comply with one of the post templates on this page

To coordinate our efforts and for messaging and group Discussion, an Asana Workspace has been set up at this link. Any active posters will be invited to the workspace.

For file sharing, a Dropbox folder has been set up. Admins at DynamoWorks can request upload access to this folder:
